Chapter 01
Twin Disciplines has two hard, independent gates
Discipline of Force activates at 20 total Ability Power. It adds magic damage equal to 8% of Akali's total Attack Damage, plus one percentage point for every 6 AP above 20. Discipline of Might activates at 10 bonus Attack Damage and grants 8% Spell Vamp, plus one percentage point for every 6 bonus AD above 10.
- Force: [8 + (AP − 20) / 6]% of total AD as bonus magic damage on basic attacks.
- Might: [8 + (bonus AD − 10) / 6]% Spell Vamp.
- Meeting one gate never activates the other half.

Chapter 02
Only current stats count, and base AD is not bonus AD
The checks use total AP and bonus AD from the stats Akali actually has. Runes, masteries and items can contribute; her 56.2 base Attack Damage cannot satisfy Might. Treat 20 and 10 as exact gates rather than trusting a rounded character-sheet number, because current player tests report that a displayed 9.5 bonus AD does not switch Might on.

Chapter 03
The recommended page reaches both gates from runes alone
Nine AD marks plus one AD quint give 11.25 bonus AD. Nine AP glyphs plus two AP quints give 20.8 AP, while nine Armor seals fill the page. Both gates therefore work from runes alone, regardless of mastery choices or starting item. The listed 21/9 page also adds substantial AP, so 20.8 is the rune-only proof rather than Akali's final level-one HUD value.

Chapter 04
There are three honest setup paths
Use the full Riftback page when you want both gates without relying on masteries. A live 29/0/1 example uses six AD marks, three Magic Penetration marks, Armor seals, scaling MR glyphs and three AP quints. Its offense page completes Force, but six marks plus Deadliness and Brute Force total only 9.664 bonus AD at level one, so Might still needs another AD rune or item. The third route deliberately activates only the half needed for lane and crosses the other gate on a later purchase.
- Rune-only: simplest to verify, but spends more damage and glyph slots on the gates.
- Mastery-assisted: preserves penetration and defensive glyphs, but the exact page must still reach both gates without rounding up 9.664.
- One-half first: preserves a broader page, but accepts that one passive begins inactive.

Chapter 05
Level one is Q, attack, then walk out
Mark of the Assassin costs 60 Energy. A melee basic attack consumes the six-second mark, deals the second Q hit and refunds only 20 Energy at rank one, so a completed trade still costs 40 before regeneration. If Akali starts Q, Twilight Shroud is not learned yet: the actual exit is spacing and minion control, not a fictional level-one W disengage.

Chapter 06
Shroud is invisibility, not invulnerability
After W is learned, Twilight Shroud creates an eight-second tooltip-defined fighting zone, grants Armor and Magic Resist and slows enemies inside it. Akali becomes invisible rather than untargetable: area damage and already-running effects still matter, while Vision Wards, Oracle's Elixir and turrets reveal her. Red Trinket's live tooltip promises ward reveal only, so do not teach it as an Akali counter.
- Attacking or casting briefly reveals Akali, but the Shroud resistances remain her defensive layer.
- Point-and-click spells need a valid visible target; ground and area effects do not.
- The exact live duration and reveal edge cases still need a controlled client test.

Chapter 07
Budget Energy before pressing E
Akali has 200 Energy and regenerates 10 per second. Rank-one Q into its attack costs 40 net; rank-one W costs 80; Crescent Slash costs 60 at rank one and, since 26.19, 55/50/45/40 at the ranks after. A rank-one Q-proc into W and E therefore spends the whole 200-Energy bar, and only the Q proc hands 20 back. E is physical area damage for clearing or finishing, not a free button and not a substitute for the marked attack.

Chapter 08
Q is fixed; the second max is a real choice
Both current specialist examples and Riftback agree that Q is the primary spell. Riftback's recorded page takes E second for waveclear, damage and the shorter area-damage cooldown. A live 26.16 Cowsep game takes W second so repeated fights cost less Energy and Shroud supplies more resistance. Since 26.19, ranking E also cuts its cost from 60 to 40 and its cooldown from 5 to 1 second. Choose the branch for the job rather than presenting either sequence as universally solved.

Chapter 09
At six, weave the attack and verify the exit
Shadow Dance is a targeted dash with up to three charges, a 2/1.5/1-second between-cast cooldown and natural charge recovery every 25/20/15 seconds. Its range indicator reads 775 since Riot fixed it in 26.18; it read 675 before. Kills and assists store a charge. Use a valid target to enter, apply Q, consume it with a basic attack, then spend E only if the Energy plan still works. The escape only exists where a third target stands, so check for one before the charge is spent.

Chapter 10
Starts and items can finish a deliberate half-page
A page does not have to activate both halves before shopping. Long Sword can complete Might for a penetration-heavy page; an AP purchase can complete Force for a defensive page. Current live examples use Doran's Shield into heavy poke, Long Sword toward Gunblade or sustain-heavy Rejuvenation Bead starts. Hextech Gunblade is the best-supported shared core, while later damage, penetration and stasis items answer different games.
- Gunblade's AP raises Force's percentage; its AD raises Might's Spell Vamp percentage.
- Zhonya answers focus when Shroud or target access is unreliable.
- Void Staff answers visible Magic Resist; no follow-up branch is universally best.

Chapter 11
Akali arrived in 26.16, so July PBE clips are stale
Akali was added to live Classic in Patch 26.16, so there is no 26.15 live Akali baseline. July PBE material may show the thresholds removed or Crescent Slash consuming the Q mark; neither describes current live behavior. Older 3.13 guides also use different passive, Q, E and R values. Current Riot notes and the 16.19 JADE records control this guide.
