The Council & the road ahead

Classic's direction is partly voted on. Riot's Council post explains the system. This page keeps the votes, the results, the dates and the champion names in one place, with a source on every claim.

The first vote (August 26 to September 2)

The inaugural poll ran for seven days in the client's Council tab, opened alongside patch 26.17. Riot published the results in the 26.18 notes and named three that will ship in an upcoming patch: all three items return, modern jungle timers are added, and the river gets a turtle at top and a duck at bottom. The 26.19 notes shipped the items; the timers and the critters are still to come.

What Riot has announced

Who has actually arrived

Patch 26.19 brought four: Fizz, Graves, Nami and Nautilus. Graves is the 2011 to 2015 bot lane marksman; Nami and Nautilus play close to their original kits. They follow the five of 26.18: Fiora, Galio, Poppy, Shyvana and Xin Zhao.

Before launch, Riot's roadmap named eight: Akali, Caitlyn, Fiora, Graves, Irelia, LeBlanc, Mordekaiser and Urgot. Three of them have shipped: Akali with 26.16, Fiora with 26.18 and Graves with 26.19. The same three patches added nine champions from outside that list: Kennen, Shen, Galio, Poppy, Shyvana, Xin Zhao, Fizz, Nami and Nautilus. The list says who may come; it has not predicted when.

Quick answers

How do I vote in the Council?
In the League client, under the Council tab, while a poll is open. Each point of voting power gives one vote on every question, playing Classic earns more voting power, and questions can be skipped.
When do the results come out?
In the patch notes after a poll closes. The first poll closed on September 2, 2026 and its results were published in the 26.18 notes on September 9. The second poll opened with 26.19 on September 23 and runs for seven days; Riot publishes its results in the next patch notes.
Which champions arrived most recently?
Fizz, Graves, Nami and Nautilus, all with patch 26.19 on September 23, 2026. Only Graves was on the eight-champion list Riot's roadmap named before launch.
